Goal during outdoor therapy?
I offer outdoor therapy sessions where students can develop practical coping skills in a natural, relaxed setting. Being outside often helps young people feel more at ease and engaged as we work together on strategies they can use both at school and at home. My approach draws primarily on solution-focused therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), empowering students to navigate challenges and build resilience.
I am also a qualified EMDR European Practitioner (license number VEN: 42648), offering evidence-based trauma processing when appropriate.
Examples of coping skills in school setting:
- planning
- focusing
- remaining calm
Examples of coping skills in home setting:
- working through a divorce
- addressing bereavement
What does it consist of?
- intake
- check-in after three sessions to find out whether there is a good rapport to continue working together
- therapy sessions
- every session will be finished with an evaluation of the progress made so far
- feedback to parents in agreement with the student
Where?
The therapy sessions take place outside whilst walking. We can meet at my office at Bankaplein and from there we would walk to the Scheveningse Bosjes or to Sorghvliet park.
If preferred I’m also flexible to come to your house. A possible travel fee might be added.
